Feature Funder: Home Depot Foundation

Hello Funds Fans!  Welcome to this week’s Feature Funder: Home Depot Foundation.  Can I get an “amen” for the generosity of corporations like these who actually give back in a substantial way?  Check this out:

The Home Depot Canada Foundation believes that good neighbours make great neighbourhoods. The Foundation is dedicated to sharing their time, knowledge and resources to support affordable housing and in building strong communities for Canadians in need.  As such, they provide support to Canadian registered charities who share their commitment to building strong communities through two grant programs:

Affordable Housing Grants: Deadline June 15th, 2012.  Grant Value: $25,000.  The purpose of this program is for repairs, refurbishments and modifications to affordable housing dwellings that benefit Canadians in need.  Eligible projects include but are not limited to: window replacement, weatherizing, painting, enhancements to the outdoor landscape (i.e. trees, gardens, seating areas), lighting or fixture upgrade projects, insulation improvements, small kitchen or washroom renovations.

Community Grants:  Applications accepted year-round. Maximum grant $5,000 (cash and/or gift card). The purpose of this fund is for small-scale affordable housing initiatives and neighbourhood improvement projects that serve Canadians in need and encourage hands-on service through volunteer engagement.  Eligible projects include but are not limited to: small-scale affordable housing and neighbourhood improvement projects that involve rebuilding, repairing, painting, refurbishing, landscaping, and planting.

Also, don’t forget that CMHC provides a suite of programs for landlords and homeowners, including financial assistance towards building a Secondary or Garden Suite for the aged or disabled.

It’s short but sweet today, folks.  Please take some time to leave me a comment or a request on what kind of funding you are looking for and I’ll be sure to look into it.
