Grants available from ING Direct and President’s Choice

Grants available!Hi Funds Fans!  It’s a Friday kind of day today.  In fact, yesterday was also a Friday kind of day and I made it all the way to 10 a.m. before I realized it was actually Thursday. Has that ever happened to you?

Well, on with the show.  Here’s where you can find some money for childrens programs, financial literacy programs and for families living with disabilities.

ING Direct believes that charitable and community projects are about more than writing a cheque.  Through their Community Investment program, they aim to increase the impact of their charitable programs by creating meaningful opportunities for their employees to get involved and connect with the people and the communities they support.   ING will engage with clients and community to ensure that projects are positive, inspiring and have long lasting impact.  If you have an idea, event or partnership that directly links to their goal of giving every child the opportunity to embrace and fulfill their potential, they’d love to hear it.   You can send them a short email outlining your idea to CommunityInvestment@ingdirect.ca, and if they think there’s a fit, they’ll let you know.  Note: ING is working to become a paperless organization, please don’t send paper proposals and media kits.

ING also provides Sponsorship support to ideas, events and partnerships that encourage and promote financial literacy, and empower positive change.  In most cases, this means most traditional sponsorships and properties, particularly in the areas of arts, culture and sport are typically not the right fit for them.  If you have an idea, event or partnership that directly links to their objective of changing the way people think about money, they’d  love to hear it.  You can send them a short email outlining your idea to sponsorship@ingdirect.ca, and if they think there’s a fit, they’ll let you know. Unfortunately, they can’t respond to every idea that’s submitted. If you don’t hear back, it means it’s not something they are interested in right now.

President’s Choice Children’s Charity provides grant support to families whose children have been diagnosed with a range of disabilities including cerebral palsy, autism, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida and various developmental delays.  To be considered a candidate for assistance, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Child (18 and under)
  • Diagnosed physical or developmental disability
  • Household annual income $70,000 or less
  • Must be a Canadian citizen and/or have permanent resident status in Canada
