More moola! Funds for aquaculture, classrooms, buy-local projects and for coaching research

Yes! Funding :)Hi Funds Fans – more moola!  Next week I will prepare a list of Deadline Alerts coming up in February but for today, I have a number of interesting opportunities for you to have a look at.  In order of approaching deadline date, here they are:

The Aquaculture Collaborative Research and Development Program has issued a Call for Proposals for research project funding for the 2013-2014 fiscal year. The deadline for submissions of proposals is February 1, 2013.  Applications should be submitted electronically.  Proposals which support marine research and development under the program objectives of Environmental Performance and Optimal Fish Health will be accepted.

Teachers can submit their project applications to ImagineAction until February 15, 2013 to be eligible for $500 subsidies. Social action projects must be student-led and completed by June 30, 2013. (Note: The previous deadline to apply was November 30th)

The Buy Local Program still has funding available!  Under the Buy Local Program, businesses and organizations can apply for matching funding (i.e., applicants are required to contribute 50% of the total cost of the project budget) from the provincial government for projects that promote local foods, including agriculture and seafood products that are grown, raised, harvested, or processed in BC.   Funding is available for projects that help meet the following objectives: Increase use of BC agrifoods in the domestic marketplace; Build consumer awareness, preference and demand for BC agrifoods sold within the province; and differentiate BC produced and/or processed agrifoods from out-of-province competition.  Minimum grant: $5,000 Maximum grant: $100,000. Funding is available on a first-come, first serve basis, until the funds have been expended.

The  Coaching Association of Canada (CAC), through its Research Committee, has issued a Call for Proposals seeking research to enhance the effectiveness of coaching across all levels of the sport system. Towards this goal, the CAC sponsors an annual Coaching Research Symposium in conjunction with its Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif conference and calls occasionally for research proposals for projects up to $7,000. In order to encourage projects that have practical and scientific implications, each submitted project must demonstrate collaboration (i.e. project design, implementation, and dissemination of findings) between the researcher(s) and sport organizations in Canada. For 2013, two projects will be funded.  Deadline: February 28th, 2013.
