NOW OPEN: Up to $50,000 from Canada Post Community Foundation

Deadline: May 12th, 2013

Deadline: May 12th, 2013

Hey Funds Fans!  I’ve been waiting patiently for this one to re-open.  Formerly known as the Canada Post Mental Health Foundation, this granting agency has re-vamped and widened it’s project scope significantly.  Here’s the scoop:

The Canada Post Community Foundation is accepting applications from registered charities, school programs or community organizations for funding of projects consistent with the Foundation’s objective to provide support for initiatives that benefit children.  The maximum amount of funding available for any project is $50,000. The Grant Advisory Committee will ensure fair and equitable regional and provincial distribution of funds raised. The Canada Post Community Foundation funds projects in any given year from donations received in the prior year.  Deadline: May 12th, 2013.

Organizations applying for project funding should either be based in the community or rely significantly on community resources to undertake the activities proposed or to achieve the objectives stated.  The Foundation will support:

  • charitable organizations with a valid CRA registration number
  • registered non-profit organizations with a valid B/N business registration number
  • elementary and high school groups
  • local community or Aboriginal groups
  • projects aimed at building front-line capacity to provide community-based support for children
  • can include capital projects (i.e. build libraries, playground structures, sport parks)
