NOW OPEN: Boating Safety Contribution Program 

Funding for Boating Safety in Canada


Good day Funds Fans!  Summer boating fun is just around the corner  and Transport Canada’s Boating Safety Contribution Program (BSCP) is now accepting applications.

The overall objective of BSCP is to reduce incidents, injuries, property damages and loss of life due to boating accidents in Canada by supporting organizations that work to raise public awareness about boating safety; advance knowledge of boating safety issues, practices and behaviours in Canada; and support regulatory compliance.

Projects that may receive funding will:

increase the number of pleasure craft operators following safe boating practices;

improve access to national boating incident data that will improve stakeholder’s capacity to deliver evidence-based awareness and education initiatives; and

help reduce deaths, injuries and property damage due to boating accidents.

Eligible recipients include:

  • Not-for-Profit Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) All Not-for-Profit NGO applicants must provide copies of legal documentation establishing or constituting the organizations as a legal entity (i.e. Letters Patent, Articles and Certificate of Incorporation, or other legal instruments.
  • Public Safety Organizations;
  • Educational Institutions;
  • Healthcare Institutions;
  • Organizations Associated with Facilities Specializing in Safety and Medical Research;
  • Enforcement Services;
  • Provincial, Territorial and Municipal Governments.

The deadline for applications is October 15, 2013.  Maximum Grant $5,000 +.  (Note: Total Program funding is $975,000)
