Funds for peace :)

Funding for peace initiativesHey Funds Fans!  Some peace with a side of funding is on the menu today.

Peace Direct is launching ‘Tomorrow’s Peacebuilders’, a new competition to find the best emerging peace-building organizations. Four winning entries will be selected by our expert peace-building jury. Each winning entry will receive:
$4,000 funding for peace-building activities
• The opportunity to attend a Peace Direct peace-builder conference or visit another peace-building organization
• Promotion of their work online.
In the longer term, Peace Direct will use this competition as part of our processes to find partner organizations that they can further fund and help to scale up their work. The winners will be announced on the International Day of Peace, September 21. This is a global competition. There is no geographical restriction on applications.
In order to be eligible to enter, you must:
• be a registered organization or community association, established for at least 2 years
• be undertaking peace-building work: your organization will be either a peace-building organization or have peace-building as a substantial element of your work.
• have a maximum annual turn-over of $40,000 or less
• be locally based: Your organization must be based in the country/communities where your work will be done. Your organization should be an independent organization, not an in-country or satellite organization of an international NGO.
Deadline: July 21st, 2014. However, they strongly recommend applying as early as possible to ensure the information is included correctly.
