At any font, here is a worthy selection of funding opportunities for language and culture revitalization within and between B.C.’s Aboriginal communities.  Check it out 🙂

The First Peoples’ Cultural Council (FPCC) provides leadership for the revitalization of Aboriginal languages, culture and arts in British Columbia. The First Peoples’ Cultural Council monitors the status of B.C. Aboriginal languages, cultures, and arts, and facilitates and develops strategies which help Aboriginal communities recover and sustain their heritage. The First Peoples’ Council is committed to establishing itself as the key source of current and accurate information on the state of Aboriginal languages in British Columbia and to continuing to provide program coordination and funding for Aboriginal language and cultural preservation and enhancement.

The Mentor-Apprentice Program is now accepting applications for the 2015-2016 program year. The Mentor-Apprentice Program supports one-on-one teams of a language mentor and apprentice to complete 300 hours of language immersion work together between June 2015 and March 2016. Deadline: March 18, 2015 at 4:00pm

The Language Nest Program is now accepting applications for the 2015-2016 program year. The Language Nest Program provides grants to support language immersion programming for children from 0 – 5 years of age. Deadline: May 6, 2015 at 4:00pm

The Language Revitalization Planning Program is now accepting applications for the 2015-2016 program year. The Language Revitalization Planning Program supports communities that share the same language to collaboratively develop strategic language plans. Deadline: June 10, 2015 at 4:00pm
