NOW OPEN: $50,000 from The Orange Door Project for youth

Orange DoorNovember 9th, 2015. Grants up to $50,000. The Home Depot Canada Foundation has made a three year, $10 million commitment to assist with renovation and repair projects and programs that provide youth with access to safe, stable housing and support services.  The Foundation is delivering on its pledge in part by providing funding through The Orange Door Project grant program.

This program provides grants to Canadian registered charities that support homeless youth. Projects must include repairs, refurbishments and/or modifications to an existing housing accommodation that benefits homeless youth and/or a facility in which supportive and/or life skills development programs are delivered to homeless youth.

Eligible projects for funding include but are not limited to: window replacement, weatherizing, painting, enhancements to the outdoor landscape (i.e. trees, gardens, seating areas), lighting or fixture upgrade projects, insulation improvements, accessibility/safety upgrades, small kitchen or washroom renovations.

This program involves a two-stage application process:

  1. Preliminary Application – provides a top-line overview of the project for which funding is required. Deadline: November 9, 2015. Applicants selected to submit a full application will be notified by e-mail on or before December 18, 2015. All other applications will automatically be considered for funding through The Home Depot Canada Foundation’s Community Grants program.
  2. Full Application – provides a more detailed summary of the project for which funding is required. The deadline for organizations invited to submit a full application is February 1, 2016.  A review committee will evaluate invited applications and make recommendations to The Home Depot Canada Foundation Board of Directors for approval.

Every attempt will be made to contact all applicants regarding their final application status on or before April 29, 2016.
